The government has approved a draft law aimed at providing support to the investor behind Poland’s first nuclear power plant project.

🚨 The Polish government has approved a project granting 60.2 billion PLN in public support from 2025 to 2030 to Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ), a 100% state-owned company, for the construction of the country’s first nuclear power plant.
💡 Construction is planned at Lubiatowo-Kopalino, Pomerania, with Westinghouse-Bechtel as the strategic partner. The first reactor is set to break ground with “first nuclear concrete” poured by 2028, and the plant is expected to be operational by 2035. This investment will not only enhance Poland’s energy security but also solidify its commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
This monumental step is part of Poland’s strategy to deliver 6-9 GW of nuclear capacity, contributing to a sustainable energy future.
