An event “Green Municipalities – 2030” was recently (14th October, 2025) held at Jonava District Municipality (Lithuania), bringing together leaders from local government to discuss how municipalities can accelerate their transition toward climate neutrality.
I had the opportunity to present a talk on the current state of hydrogen technologies and their potential integration into municipal energy systems – from hydrogen production and storage to its role in smart, resilient local energy networks.
Hydrogen can play a key role in enabling municipalities to balance renewable energy use, reduce emissions, and strengthen local energy independence.
Many thanks to the organizers and participants for an inspiring discussion on sustainable local innovation.
